About the Role:

The Manager of Non-Traditional Field Ops Performance owns the connective tissue between these stakeholders. This role runs best-practice discussions grounded in real field examples, builds direct relationships between our franchisees and Walmart store managers, and resolves issues before they escalate-so Walmart corporate sees consistent, confident execution on the ground, not just at the account level. The role directly supports the active 3PD delivery scale-up (36% onboarded today, targeting 90%+ by mid-August), the Grab & Go Q4 pilot, and early Loyalty integration work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Multi-Stakeholder Convening & Relationship Management-Serve as the primary connective hub between Subway field operations, franchisees operating in Walmart, Twin Towers (master lease holder), and Walmart corporate and store management.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across these groups to ensure consistent communication, alignment on initiatives, and swift resolution of issues before they escalate to the leadership level.
  • Field Execution & Best Practice Dissemination-Run best-practice discussions grounded in real field examples, translating corporate initiatives (3PD, Grab & Go, Loyalty, NRG) into operational playbooks that franchisees and Walmart store
managers can execute. Monitor field performance metrics, identify gaps, and drive Improvement across the 1,300+ Subway-in-Walmart footprint.
  • 3PD & Growth Initiative Support-Directly support the 3PD delivery scale-up (targeting 90%+ onboarded by mid-August), the Grab & Go Q4 pilot, and Loyalty integration work at the field level. Identify barriers to adoption, work with franchisees and Walmart store teams to accelerate rollout, and ensure operational readiness.
  • Strategic Planning & Expansion Support-Represent Subway in discussions about national expansion of Subway in Walmart (~3,200 additional locations without Subway today). Partner with Walmart corporate, franchisee partners, and Twin
Towers to ensure operational readiness and consistent execution standards across the expanded footprint.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across internal teams (field ops, leadership) and external parties (franchisees, retail partners, master lease holders)
  • 5+ years of progressive field operations, account management, franchisee relationship management, or operations leadership experience in restaurant, foodservice, or retail environments. Experience navigating complex multi-stakeholder dynamics and driving adoption of new initiatives preferred.
  • Strong field operations acumen and ability to translate corporate initiatives into actionable, franchisee-friendly operational playbooks
  • Demonstrated experience scaling multi-unit or multi-location operations with complex stakeholder dynamic
  • Ability to diagnose field-level bottlenecks, engage the right people to solve them, and drive adoption of new programs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills-comfortable presenting to franchisee groups, Walmart store teams, and Subway leadership
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment managing multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Deep understanding of unit economics and the ability to connect operational decisions to franchisee profitability
  • Experience in non-traditional channels (retail, co-branded, military, healthcare) or complex franchisee models preferred
  • Ability to build credibility quickly with franchisees and external partners; strong interpersonal skills and genuine partnership orientation
  • Travel up to 40%.
