About the Role:

The Manager of Medical Staff Services plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the credentialing, privileging, and ongoing professional practice evaluation of medical staff within a healthcare organization. This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, fostering a culture of quality and patient safety. The manager collaborates closely with medical staff, hospital leadership, and regulatory bodies to maintain accurate and up-to-date provider records and facilitate smooth onboarding processes. By managing a team and streamlining administrative workflows, the role supports efficient medical staff operations and promotes effective communication across departments. Ultimately, this position contributes to the delivery of high-quality healthcare by ensuring that all medical staff meet rigorous professional standards and organizational policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical staff services, credentialing, or healthcare administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission standards, NCQA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating complex administrative processes.
  • Proficiency with credentialing software and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification.
  • Experience working in a hospital or large healthcare system environment.
  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and project management.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare compliance software.
