Full Job Description
In the role of Manufacturing Manager, Molding Operations you will be responsible for providing leadership of overall molding operations including productivity, goal setting, training and department profitability. Responsible for leading molding operations over multiple shifts to include managing and directing all department personnel, achieving production schedules while meeting objectives in quality, safety, cost controls, and improving process and efficiencies. The manager is responsible for support and acceptance from engineering efforts to customer satisfaction and establishing and communicating clear strategy, direction and goals. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Initiate action, provide work direction and assign tasks. Implement policies and procedures and recommend. improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions to meet metric and budget goals. • Provide technical expertise, training, and guidance for all areas of Molding and subassembly Manufacturing. • Lead, Inspire and Execute Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives. • Develop People- Recognize development needs, convey feedback, coach and mentor, and model and reinforce desired behavior. • Study production schedules and determine equipment utilization and capacity constraints for completion of job assignments. Make recommendations for tooling, fixture, automation, or any other support to help ensure productions' success and meeting committed delivery dates. • Develop and maintain Standard work for self, direct reports, and throughout production with emphasis on meeting BoM standards, Gemba and 6S. • Training and coaching of supervisors and oversee training and coaching of other personnel within department. • Responsible for budgeting for manufacturing, including approvals of spending and cost control. • Get results- prioritize properly, transform ideas into actions, plans work to operate efficiently and effectively, inspires others to do the same. • Communicate notifications, decisions, news, quality issues including execution of CAPAs to department personnel. • Collaboration- Inspire teamwork to achieve common goals. Build cooperation and participation amongst individuals and within teams. • Adaptability- respond effectively to changing events; modify approaches on short notice. • Responsible to build a culture of trust and respect, and ensure correct behaviors (i.e. safety and GMPs) • Oversee the coordination of resources for troubleshooting. • Communication and listening- encourages the open exchange of ideas and the sharing of relevant and accurate information. • Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications: • Engineering degree and ten (10) years of management experience required • Skilled in progressive leadership concepts and developing people. Ability to lead and embrace change. • Team oriented • Strong communication, analytical/problem solving, negotiation, time management and planning skills, and the ability to interact with internal and external customers • Extensive knowledge and practical understanding of Medical Device manufacturing, ISO13485 and FDA regulations, and GMPs • Working knowledge in automation and advanced manufacturing • Be a champion for improved productivity and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques • Strong project management skills with high sense of urgency • Team player; and ability to develop a team atmosphere • Able to communicate with all levels of staff • Ability to coordinate workflow, company and customer quality requirements, prioritize company goals and objectives and manage team • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow to meet company goals • Skilled with computers to include Word, Excel, Access, and IQMS (or other ERP programs) • Knowledge and practical understanding of injection molding, tooling and processing a plus • Blackbelt Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred ADA Requirements: • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards • Travel by air or car occasionally Salary Range $140,000 - $165,000 Annually #IND #LI-SH1
