Purpose of PositionManager, SaaS Platform Services leads strategic management of a portfolio of 40+ small-to-mid-tier SaaS applications (including Qualtrics, Cority, and similar enterprise solutions). People leader of approximately eight developers and testers supporting SharePoint and Documentum platforms. Responsible for vendor relationships, license management optimization, and strategic buy-vs-build decision-making. Collaborates closely with SaaS product leads and delivery leads to maximize ROI across the application portfolio and drive operational excellence.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop engineering and quality teams using servant-leadership principles to drive business value through effective SaaS portfolio management.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and stakeholder communications across 40+ SaaS applications.
- Oversee SaaS license management, including procurement optimization, cost allocation, usage analysis, and vendor compliance.
- Lead SaaS vendor selection process and support buy-vs-build decision-making, evaluating business requirements, technical fit, total cost of ownership, and implementation feasibility.
- Collaborate with SaaS product leads and delivery leads on roadmap planning, release coordination, and cross-platform integration initiatives.
- Lead team operations, break-fix activities, and 24x7 on-call support coordination; participate in after-hours rotation as needed for critical incidents.
- Coach and lead delivery team to improve quality, automation, operational visibility, and incident response capabilities.
- Establish and manage annual budget while maintaining vendor compliance and cost optimization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong business partnerships with SaaS application owners, IT stakeholders, and vendors.
- Have a strong understanding of the DevSecOps function as it pertains to the security architecture of the SaaS solutions (ie Single Sign On, FedRamp requirements, etc.)
- Prioritize and manage workload, escalations, issues, and risks across the portfolio.
- Limited travel when required for vendor meetings, implementations, and strategic planning.
Minimum Education• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
Minimum Experience- 5+ years of experience leading software engineering or operations teams
- 5+ years of experience as a People Leader with direct reports
- 3+ years of experience managing enterprise SaaS applications or software vendor relationships
- 2+ years of experience leading/managing testers or quality teams
- Experience supporting enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Documentum, or similar content management/collaboration solutions
- Demonstrated experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and license optimization
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Technical knowledge of enterprise SaaS platforms and integration patterns
- Proficiency in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation
- Ability to analyze total cost of ownership and build business cases for SaaS investments
- Strong project management skills, particularly in implementation and integration projects
- Proficiency with budget management, cost forecasting, and vendor compliance reporting
- Ability to lead transformational change and manage multiple competing priorities
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices and ability to coach teams on effective planning and retrospectives
- Experience evaluating technical solutions for business fit and scalability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present recommendations to executive leadership
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across business and technical stakeholder groups
