DescriptionThe Manager, HSE/DOT plays a crucial role in ensuring the DOT and safety compliance of the company's Northeast operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Incidents and Risk Assessments:- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, or near misses and develop corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis on location and at Odessa Yard.
- Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of safety programs and policies.
- Regularly audit safety programs, identify gaps without waiting for external audits, and implement immediate corrective action plans.
Training:- Oversee and assist with new hire orientation and conduct Defensive Driving and PEC training when necessary.
- Lead regular safety meetings and training sessions to communicate SOPs, recent safety issues, and provide ongoing training and coaching.
- Develop and deliver training if new issues arise or incidents require further focus.
Relationship and Stakeholder Engagement:- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to address inquiries, inspections, and audits related to HSE matters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors to ensure their adherence to HSE standards.
- Meet weekly with customer HSE teams and TSS/RT local management to address safety issues, concerns, and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with DOT officers, managing citations, and ensuring proper compliance.
Record Keeping and Compliance:- Maintain up-to-date records on all safety policies and customer requirements in ISN and Veriforce portals.
- Manage regional HSE and DOT compliance, ensuring all record-keeping requirements are met, including OSHA 300 logs, incident reporting, and required compliance documents.
Other Safety and Compliance Duties:- Assist with the creation, documentation, and implementation of safety programs and policies.
- Work with Lockton Insurance to obtain Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and necessary insurance for customers.
- Collaborate with the fleet team to ensure trucks are equipped with necessary DOT-required items (e.g., insurance, cab books, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsQualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on HSE management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Thorough understanding of industry-specific regulations such as OSHA, EPA, API, and other relevant standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HSE programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address potential HSE risks.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to influence positive change in HSE culture.
- Willingness to travel to various work sites and locations as needed.
- Maintain a valid driver's license that meets the Company's insurance requirements.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

- Sustain focus on computer screens for prolonged periods.
- Use hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment.
- Communicate effectively via phone, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings, and understand verbal communication clearly.
- Move between rooms, attend meetings, and reach for supplies as needed.
- Lift and move objects, typically under 25 pounds, such as files, laptops, or office supplies.
Schedule: Monday - Friday | On-call weekends
