Facilities Manager

The Manager, Facilities is responsible for the operational management and continuous improvement of facilities management. You will manage all activities concerned with the installation, operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment, utilities, structures, grounds, and roads. Ensures building integrity and maintenance of electrical, water and air systems and other real property. Oversees the maintenance of facility grounds and landscaping. Coordinates and oversees numerous subcontractors.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Salary: $110,000 to $130,000

Your Challenge:

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of facility and grounds, ensuring that building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.), and infrastructure are maintained and functioning optimally. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, grounds and other facilities related projects. Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion. Develops and executes organizational policies and long-term facilities strategies, aligning with corporate objectives, space utilization needs, and operational requirements. (20%)

  • Develops and manages the facilities budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation. Leads the planning, budgeting and scheduling of facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Regularly reviews spending and identifies cost-saving opportunities. (20%)

  • Establishes and implements policies to ensure that facilities comply with regulatory requirements and health and safety standards. Conducts regular audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance. Maintains a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions as needed. (20%)

  • Manages relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized projects and services. Ensures all work performed by contractors meets contractual obligations and company standards. (20%)

  • Drives the continuous improvement of facilities management processes, implementing best practices, new technologies, and innovation to improve operational efficiency. Stays current with industry trends and regulations. (20%)
