Full Job Description
Purpose Supports Liberty's electric utility business in the Central region-Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma-through strategic engagement with government officials, regulators, and industry stakeholders across the service territory. Monitors legislative activity in Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma and cultivates trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, and local elected officials. Provides additional support to the Senior Director of Regulatory and Government Affairs on Missouri legislative, regulatory and stakeholder matters; and to the Senior Manager of Community Affairs and Strategic Accounts on municipal and community stakeholder engagement in the Joplin area. Accountabilities • Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and community stakeholders. • Represent Liberty as a credible and constructive voice in political, regulatory, and community forums. • Monitor state legislation in Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma; assess business impacts and as necessary, support development of advocacy strategies. • Provide backup legislative support in Missouri, in coordination with the Senior Director, Government & Regulatory Affairs. • Support Liberty's participation in regional coalitions, trade associations, and industry groups. • Build and maintain relationships with local elected officials and community leaders in the Joplin area. • Collaborate with municipal officials, chambers of commerce, and economic development organizations on initiatives supporting customer growth and community investment. • Participate in community meetings, permitting discussions, and local outreach to represent Liberty's interests. • Support employee volunteerism and outreach initiatives that reflect Liberty's values. • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Regulatory Services to ensure coordinated policy and advocacy strategies. • Advise executives and business leaders on emerging legislative, policy, and regulatory trends.
