Job DescriptionOwns the District's enterprise project portfolio and leads the IT project management function. Personally manages the organization's most complex and highly visible strategic initiatives (approximately 5% of the portfolio) while overseeing delivery of the broader IT project portfolio through a team of Project Managers. Serves as the executive-facing voice for all projects, producing executive dashboards and reports and standing accountable to leadership for portfolio health, priorities, and outcomes.
Portfolio Ownership and Executive Reporting- Own the enterprise project portfolio end to end: intake, prioritization, resourcing, governance, and reporting.
- Design, build, and maintain executive dashboards and executive-level portfolio reports for the CITO, CEO, and executive leadership.
- Present portfolio status, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership; be prepared to speak to the status of any project in the portfolio at any time.
- Establish and enforce PMO standards, methodology, templates, and tooling; drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Project Delivery- Directly lead high-visibility strategic projects with enterprise, executive, or Board-level impact.
- Partner with executive sponsors to define scope, business outcomes, and success measures.
- Manage complex vendor, contract, and multi-department dependencies.
Team Leadership (approx. 10%)- Supervise, coach, and develop 2-3 Project Managers; conduct performance reviews, set goals, and manage workload assignments.
- Provide escalation support and quality oversight on all team-managed projects.
- Build team capability in methodology, communication, and executive presence.
Communication- Create polished presentations and briefing materials for executive and Board audiences.
- Communicate effectively across clinical, operational, technical, and executive stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Eight to ten (8-10) years of progressive project management experience, including management of complex, multi-stakeholder technology and strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience building executive dashboards, reports, and presentations and presenting to senior leadership.
- Experience leading or mentoring project managers.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MS, or related).
- Healthcare or public-sector experience; familiarity with Epic or other EHR programs and regulatory environments.
- PMO leadership or portfolio management experience; PgMP, PfMP, or Lean Six Sigma a plus.
- Proficiency with enterprise PPM and reporting tools (Monday.com, Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project).
