JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Batch Stability Studies oversees operations, process improvements, and strategic direction for a professional team. Leads ERCOT's Batch stability activities for Large Load Interconnection (e.g., data centers, industrial loads) and related rulemakings at the PUCT or additional ERCOT revision requests. Provides engineering analysis and technical support for implementation of Batch stability studies pursuant to NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocol, and Market Guides. Supports team development through training and mentoring. Represents ERCOT in stakeholder forums, committees, and working groups.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of staff.
- Sets departmental goals and priorities
- Manages the day-to-day strategic direction and leads team responsible for ERCOT's Batch stability studies for Large Load Interconnection (e.g., data centers, industrial loads), including related rulemakings and revision requests.
- Coordinates with cross functional departments to implement Batch studies for Large Load Interconnection based on ERCOT requirements and NERC Standards.
- Coordinates input and review by technical subject-matter experts.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills; effectively explaining technical concepts and delivering executive presentations
- Collaborates with senior management on ERCOT initiatives
- Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to gain acceptance from others in complex situations. Develops and maintains business rules, policies, and processes consistent with mandates; facilitates revision requests for Protocol and Market Guides.
- Represents ERCOT in stakeholder forums, committees, and working groups.
- Develops revision requests and supports stakeholder process.
- Stays updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Provides input to budgeting and financial decisions that impact the department. Requests approval for financial actions beyond a limited scope.
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field (Preferred)
- Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge equivalent to a major in such fields is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Requires a minimum 8 years job-related work experience and 2 years in a leadership role in excess of degree requirements. Minimum years of job-related experience can include time in leadership roles.
- Requires minimum 5 years work experience in system planning, operations, or interconnection.
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing large scale stability studies.
- Experience supporting transmission planning assessments.
- Experience analyzing large load dynamic behavior (e.g., data centers, industrial loads) and assessing system impacts.
- Familiarity with NERC reliability standards, particularly FAC-002 and TPL standards.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position is Hybrid. Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at least 2-3 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management.
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time.

Expected Salary Range:
$159,000 - $218,000
