Manager, EHS & DEA Compliance
How will you make an impact?

The Manager, EHS & DEA Compliance provides leadership and direction for the site's Environmental, Health & Safety and DEA Compliance teams. This role is responsible for developing people, strengthening processes, driving accountability, and ensuring programs effectively support regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and operational excellence.

What will you do?

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the EHS and DEA Compliance teams while establishing clear priorities, expectations, and accountability.

  • Build team capability through coaching, cross-training, career development, and succession planning.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and proactive risk identification.

  • The successful candidate will be a strong people leader who can build high-performing teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner across the organization to implement sustainable solutions.

  • Provide employees with the direction and resources needed to successfully execute their responsibilities.

  • Build strong partnerships with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Security, HR, and other site functions.

  • Effectively communicate priorities, risks, performance, and improvement opportunities to site leadership.

  • Influence across organizational levels to drive alignment and sustainable change.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Evaluate existing EHS and DEA Compliance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, standardization, and accountability.

  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that simplify processes while maintaining strong regulatory controls.

  • Establish meaningful metrics and use data and trends to identify risks, prioritize resources, and measure performance.

  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions address root causes and result in sustainable improvements.

  • Drive standard work, clear ownership, and consistent execution across EHS and DEA Compliance programs.

  • Promote proactive problem solving rather than reactive management of incidents and compliance issues.

EHS & DEA Compliance Oversight
  • Provide overall leadership and governance for site EHS and DEA Compliance programs.

  • Ensure programs comply with applicable corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Maintain organizational readiness for regulatory inspections, audits, and assessments.

  • Provide oversight of investigations, CAPAs, controlled-substance compliance, EHS programs, and regulatory commitments.

  • Monitor changing regulatory expectations and ensure appropriate processes and controls are implemented.

  • Partner with subject-matter experts to assess risk and develop practical, sustainable solutions.

  • Represent EHS and DEA Compliance in site leadership discussions and regulatory interactions as appropriate.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Life Sciences, Business, Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, or a related field strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, managing change, and improving business processes.

  • Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience preferred.

  • Experience with EHS and/or DEA-controlled substance regulatory requirements preferred.
