Job Description
The Manager, Digital Marketing is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution and optimization of the firm's digital marketing programs, platforms and channels. This role oversees a team of digital marketing professionals and serves as a key liaison between marketing and business development colleagues, lawyers, technology teams and external partners to deliver high-quality digital experiences that support business development, thought leadership and brand visibility.
The Manager balances execution and optimization with people leadership, ensuring digital initiatives are delivered efficiently, consistently and in alignment with firm standards. The role drives operational excellence across websites, blogs, and campaign platforms while fostering team development and continuous improvement.
This position will be based in our Houston, Austin, Dallas or San Antonio office and flexibility to visit the office for training or meetings is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership and team management
- Lead, coach and develop a team of digital marketing professionals, including workload prioritization and career development.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding and training efforts for digital marketing team members.
Digital Marketing strategy and execution
- As the senior subject matter expert, partner with the Content and BD teams to implement digital marketing strategies and support business development, thought leadership and brand visibility goals.
- Lead the execution of digital marketing campaigns across web, email, social media and other digital channels, communicating performance data and actionable insights to inform platform enhancements, campaign optimization and content strategy decisions in collaboration with the Content team.
- Provide guidance to business development professionals and marketing colleagues and lawyers as appropriate on digital marketing best practices and platform capabilities.
Digital platforms and operations
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the firm's digital marketing platforms, including websites, blogs, microsites and campaign tools.
- Work to continuously improve digital intake, ticketing and approval workflows, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent execution of requests.
- Manage publishing workflows and ensure compliance with brand, accessibility, governance and quality standards
- Serve as the primary escalation point for digital marketing requests, platform issues and content delivery challenges.
- Oversee regular content audits and lifecycle management, including updates, archiving and end-of-life transitions for digital assets and platforms.
- Develop and approve keyword and SEO, and GEO strategies (for digital publications, blogs, legal updates, campaigns, etc.) and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to improve site search, Google rankings and AI-influenced search outcomes, maximizing visibility, discoverability and long-term performance.
Platform optimization and stakeholder management
- Act as business owner for digital marketing platforms (CMS, analytics tools, microsites, blogs and cloud services), managing external agencies and vendors on scope, prioritization, issue resolution, optimization, budgeting, invoicing and contract coordination.
- Partner with global, regional and cross-functional teams (content, brand and creative, business development, communications, IT and lawyer stakeholders) to operationalize digital processes, enhancements and service offerings, and to standardize execution across the firm.
- Monitor digital performance metrics and deliver actionable insights to improve engagement, user experience and campaign effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, technology teams, external vendors and agencies to support the successful delivery and continuous improvement of digital marketing initiatives.

Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, digital media, marketing technology, marketing operations, marketing or a related field and five or more years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the legal industry, professional services, or another complex organization.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, nine years of relevant experience in digital marketing, web management, or marketing technology, preferably in the legal industry, professional services, or another complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading digital platforms, SEO strategy and vendor relationships.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring team members with demonstrated people leadership capability. 1+ years of team management experience highly preferred.
- Experience managing digital projects, campaigns and stakeholder relationships in a professional services environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms, content management systems and analytics tools.
- Experience with technologies and tools such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress HubSpot, HTML, CSS, Data Studio, SharePoint, Hootsuite, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, Google Ads, Adobe Workfront, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, Mailchimp, event platforms, Coveo, Semrush, Copilot, Microsoft 365 and LastPass highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of HTML, SEO and digital accessibility standards. GEO knowledge and Bar rule understanding a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels in a collaborative environment.
