Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and bias in domestic forecasts to meet customer service and inventory goals.
  • Coach a team of demand planners in statistical forecasting and data mining.
  • Interpret and explain various forecasting methods including times series and Delphi modeling.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance to refine input for forecasting models.
  • Lead demand planning meetings to align and communicate monthly forecasting results.
  • Maintain up-to-date master data in demand planning software (IBP and Orbit).

Manager, Demand Planning, Hybrid, Easton, PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Accountable for the demand plan associated with the domestic facet of the Crayola business for the assigned customer segment. This key supply chain leader coaches a team of demand planners to provide consistent and accurate item ship-point level forecasts to the organization. The manager leads and facilitates consensus and merchandising meetings to effectively communicate the results of times series, barometric, and Delphi forecasting methods thereby achieving buy-in from sales, marketing, and finance collaborators. Finally, the position is responsible for ensuring that all master data within the demand planning software and reporting tools (IBP and Orbit) is up-to-date and accurate

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the domestic (non CPFR item/distribution center) level forecast accuracy and bias to achieve desired levels/tolerance of forecast bias, customer service, and inventory
  • Leads and coaches a team of demand planners by providing coaching in statistical forecasting methods, data mining approaches, and collaboration methods
  • Interprets and conveys the results of times series, regression, barometric, and Delphi modeling methods
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance, to capture requirements as inputs to statistical models to increase forecast accuracy
  • Facilitates demand planning pre-consensus and merchandising meetings with the merchandising, sales, and finance teams to convey the results of the monthly forecasting process and achieve buy-in to the demand plan
  • Responsible and accountable for accurate and timely master data (customer, product, sales BOM, etc.) within IBP and reflective reporting systems


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Business, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Economics/Econometrics, Quantitative Methods, or Supply Chain with Statistical Methods.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, supply chain planning or capacity planning role
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including MS Visio
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • APICS certification desirable
