About the Role: The
Manager, Corporate Strategy is a key member of Boston Scientific's Corporate Strategy team, independently leading complex strategic workstreams that help shape the company's long-term direction. This role supports and independently executes strategic workstreams, develops well-structured insights and recommendations, and collaborates closely with senior members of the team.
The Corporate Strategy team supports Boston Scientific's CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors on the company's most consequential strategic questions, including portfolio strategy, growth opportunities, and capital allocation decisions.
Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Analysis & Insights- Lead complex, cross-functional strategic analyses on high-priority topics, including market sizing, competitive landscapes, white-space opportunities, emerging technologies, and structural changes affecting Boston Scientific's markets
- Frame ambiguous business questions, develop hypotheses, establish analytical approaches, and oversee workstreams from problem definition through executive recommendation
- Synthesize primary and secondary research into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership audiences
- Proactively identify opportunities and risks across Boston Scientific's global businesses and recommend specific strategic actions
Strategic Planning- Lead defined components of Boston Scientific's annual Strategic Planning and Annual Operating Plan processes
- Partner with Business Unit and functional leaders to develop strategy materials and executive-level presentations
- Manage the development of executive-level presentations and support Executive Committee and Board of Directors readouts
- Help manage the cadence, coordination, and quality of deliverables across assigned planning workstreams
Mergers & Acquisitions / Business Development- Support the assessment, prioritization, and strategic framing of M&A, venture, and partnership opportunities across Boston Scientific's global portfolio
- Lead strategic due-diligence workstreams, including market sizing, penetration forecasting, competitive positioning, and evaluation of strategic fit
- Partner with Business Development and business leaders to develop investment theses, pressure-test assumptions, and communicate recommendations
Portfolio & Performance Analysis- Lead analyses of Boston Scientific's existing business portfolio and R&D pipeline to inform resource allocation, portfolio priorities, and capital-allocation decisions
- Track organizational and portfolio performance and develop actionable insights for senior leadership
- Integrate internal performance data with external market and competitive perspectives to support enterprise-level decisions
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 3+ years with an MBA or other relevant advanced degree, in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, business development, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong judgment and ability to work effectively through ambiguity
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and build alignment around fact-based recommendations
- Experience developing and presenting materials for executive audiences
- High integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in medical technology, healthcare, or life sciences
- Familiarity with M&A processes and due diligence
- Experience supporting C suite or Board level presentations
