Qualifications

ABOUT OUR CONSTRUCTION DELAY TEAM

When it comes to understanding the details that have an impact on costly and disruptive construction delays, we have built a reputation that stands above all with decades of experience as engineers, project managers, architects, schedulers, and accountants. Our team is trusted for their sophisticated delay analysis involved in the biggest projects developed around the world, including notable buildings, infrastructure, power & utilities, and oil & gas works. That's why our team was honored as Who's Who Legal's Construction Expert Witness Firm of the Year for 2024.

Responsibilities:

Hybrid positions (multiple openings) with ability to telecommute 2 days per week. Requirement to be in the Houston, TX office 3 times per week. Critical path method schedule analysis based on mastery and use of accepted methodologies as set out in AACEI 29R-03 and SLC Protocol. Use software Primavera and MS Project is also required. Quantification of monetary damages for delay, productivity loss, and other engineering and construction related costs in accordance with accepted procedures and methodologies such as the measured mile, earned value analysis and discrete pricing. Analytical familiarity with engineering processes and procedures, common contracting mechanisms and provisions in contracts, procurement practices, construction practices, commissioning and job closeout. Write technical reports outlining issues identified through research and analysis and explaining delay and quantum cause and effect and accepted methodologies that are the basis of analytical findings.

**Position requires 10% of domestic travel.

Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Building Construction, Technology Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and 5 years of relevant experience in engineering or engineering consulting role related to civil, mechanical or industrial engineering; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Building Construction, Technology Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience in engineering or engineering consulting role related to civil, mechanical or industrial engineering.

This position also requires experience with the following skills:
  • 3 years of experience using scheduling software - Primavera and MS Project.
  • 3 years of experience analyzing complex data sets using advanced Excel including pivot tables/power pivots/macros/graphical visualization.
  • 3 years of experience using cost estimating software (RS Means OR Xactiexcemate).
  • 3 years of experience with Forensic Analysis - Critical Path Method delay analysis and damages analysis and quantification relating to construction projects.
  • 3 years of experience analyzing complex construction schedules, identifying project delays. and applying appropriate industry-accepted methodology for Critical Path Method schedule analysis in litigation or dispute resolution scenarios.
  • 3 years of experience evaluating parties' contractual obligations (nor>-legal), performing comprehensive fact-based assessment of issues, and developing damage models utilizing industry-accepted methodology for calculating construction damages in litigation or dispute resolution scenarios.
