Full Job Description
JobDescription: The Client Manager role in Client Advisory is an integral member of the Client Team. As the Team Coordinator, you are responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate completion of work, essential in helping clients live their preferred lives. This position provides support to and oversees Support Team Members, while executing on and coordinating direction given by Team Leads. Client Manager positions offer a career path leading to increased client engagement and complexity of work over time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for client inquiries, solving problems, and proactively meeting clients' needs. Communicate with clients directly via phone, zoom, and in-person meetings.
  • Coordinate the communication and implementation of client investment strategies at the direction of and approval by Team Leads.
  • Provide oversight to Support Team Members on preparing client documentation: drafting letters of instruction, completing account applications, manager agreements, and fund subscription documents, organizing supporting documentation, and coordinating the process through to completion.
  • Act as information provider to accountants, banks, outside investment managers, and other professionals also supporting clients.
  • Manage the quarterly reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of client reports.
  • Coordinate and prepare materials needed for client meetings.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for Associates and Senior Associates on operational matters, such as recon, reporting, account opening/transfers, etc.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required (Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics).
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in the financial management industry is required.
  • CFP, CFA, MBA, or JD is preferred but not required. One of these certifications/degrees may be required for further advancement beyond the Client Manager role.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and client service skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and understands time-sensitive issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill with PC and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Comfort speaking with clients and their other professional relationships concerning money movement, account openings, trades within accounts, and basic daily operations is a plus.
  • Shows a positive attitude and initiative in all aspects of the position, as well as demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks in the face of competing demands.
  • Enjoys learning and growing and is motivated to take on new challenges.
  • Basic understanding of investments including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and alternatives.


Pay Transparency: Pathstone's expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $85,000 - $100,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
