Full Job Description

In this newly created, high-impact role within our Finance Program Management Office (PMO), you will serve as the architect and champion of change management across our portfolio of Finance transformation programs. You will define how the Finance PMO approaches change — establishing frameworks, standards, and toolkits that become the backbone of every project we run — while also leading GenAI adoption initiatives across the FinOps organization.

This is not a back-office coordination role. You will be a visible, strategic partner to program managers, business stakeholders, and Finance leadership — translating complex transformations into clear, human-centered adoption experiences that stick. You will own the end-to-end change journey: from stakeholder analysis and impact assessment through to training, readiness validation, and go-live sustainment. Additionally, you will lead, mentor, and cultivate a small, high-performing team of change professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.

You are equally comfortable operating at the strategic level (designing frameworks, advising leadership) and at the tactical level (building a comms plan, running a workshop, tracking adoption metrics). You understand that technology only delivers value when people actually use it — and you make that happen.

This is a hybrid position that can be based in either Los Angeles or Los Gatos and offers the flexibility to work remotely part-time. Occasional travel may be required to other office locations, including internationally.

Responsibilities

Change Management Practice & Framework

  • Define and own the Finance PMO change management methodology — establishing a scalable, repeatable framework (tools, templates, and standards) that elevates the consistency and quality of change delivery across all PMO-led programs.

  • Develop and maintain a library of reusable change management artifacts: stakeholder analysis templates, change impact assessment frameworks, communication plan structures, readiness survey toolkits, RACI models, and training design guides.

  • Act as the internal expert and coach on change management best practices; build change capability across the PMO team and broader Finance organization so that change management becomes a core competency, not a one-off activity.

  • Benchmark against industry frameworks (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, McKinsey Influence Model) and adapt them pragmatically to Netflix's culture and operating model.

GenAI Adoption & Technology Enablement

  • Lead team members in the change management and adoption strategy for GenAI across the FinOps organization — ensuring that AI tools and intelligent automation solutions are embraced, embedded, and sustained by Finance teams.

  • Partner with the Finance GenAI Champions, product, and engineering to design adoption pathways for new AI capabilities; translate technical rollouts into compelling business change journeys that prioritize the user experience.

  • Lead team members in the development and execution of GenAI upskilling and enablement programs for Finance — including needs assessments, learning curricula, train-the-trainer programs, and self-serve learning resources — to build a GenAI-fluent FinOps workforce.

  • Report on GenAI adoption metrics across FinOps; use adoption data to diagnose resistance, surface barriers, and drive targeted interventions that accelerate value realization.

  • Serve as a thought leader on responsible AI adoption within Finance — fostering a culture of experimentation while ensuring stakeholders understand capabilities, limitations, and governance guardrails.

Portfolio Change Management

  • Provide holistic change management strategies across the Finance PMO project portfolio — ensuring that change impacts are assessed, sequenced, and managed at the portfolio level, not just the individual project level.

  • Lead change management on significant, high-visibility PMO initiatives from end to end: scope change impact assessments, develop and execute communication plans, manage stakeholder engagement, design and oversee training programs, and conduct readiness assessments prior to go-live.

  • Proactively identify change saturation risks across the portfolio — flagging moments when concurrent programs may overwhelm stakeholder groups — and recommend sequencing or pacing adjustments to protect adoption outcomes.

  • Partner closely with Finance PMO Senior Program Managers and Program Managers to integrate change management activities into project plans, ensuring change is never treated as an afterthought.

  • Manage and track change management deliverables across the portfolio; provide regular reporting on change health, adoption progress, and stakeholder sentiment to PMO leadership.

Stakeholder Experience & Communications

  • Build strong relationships with Finance stakeholders to gain deep understanding and awareness of their unique needs.

  • Design stakeholder engagement strategies that go beyond information sharing — creating experiences that build genuine understanding, confidence, and commitment to change.

  • Develop executive-ready communications, leadership roadmaps, and briefing materials that equip sponsors and Finance leaders to actively champion change.

  • Build and execute comprehensive global communication plans for Finance transformation programs — spanning emails, FAQs, newsletters, town halls, presentations, and digital channels — coordinating with internal communications partners to align messaging and timing.

  • Conduct and analyze readiness assessments, pulse surveys, and feedback mechanisms to continuously gauge stakeholder sentiment; translate insights into action plans that address resistance and close adoption gaps.

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder maps, resistance registers, and engagement trackers to ensure no impacted group is overlooked.

  • Make recommendations on the best tools for gathering data and sending communications.

Training & Capability Building

  • Develop training strategy for Finance transformation programs — encompassing needs analysis, content design, delivery planning (live, virtual, self-paced), and post-training reinforcement.

  • Build and deploy train-the-trainer programs that extend change management and technology enablement capacity across the Finance organization, empowering super users and business champions.

  • Measure training effectiveness and adoption outcomes; apply data-driven insights to iterate and improve enablement approaches.

  • Partner with Finance subject matter experts, product teams, and L&D resources to develop high-quality training materials, job aids, and quick-reference guides that support sustainable change.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in change management, organizational change, or transformation enablement, with at least 3 years leading change management on large-scale, cross-functional programs in a Finance or technology-oriented environment.

  • Proven ability to design and implement change management frameworks, methodologies, and toolkits from the ground up — not just apply pre-built approaches.

  • Demonstrated experience leading technology adoption initiatives, ideally including AI, automation, or enterprise systems (ERP, EPM, or similar).

  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills — able to distill complex changes into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences ranging from frontline users to C-suite.

  • Expertise in developing and executing multi-channel communication plans and stakeholder engagement strategies for global, cross-functional audiences.

  • Experience designing and delivering training programs, including train-the-trainer models, with the ability to adapt delivery to diverse learning needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage change at a portfolio level — balancing multiple concurrent programs and proactively identifying change saturation risks.

  • Exceptional facilitation skills; experience designing and leading workshops, readiness assessments, and cross-functional alignment sessions.

  • Strong analytical mindset — able to design adoption metrics, interpret data, and use insights to refine change strategies.

  • A genuine passion for people-centered design: you believe the human experience of change is the most important variable in any transformation's success.

Preferred

  • Change management certification (Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

  • Experience with GenAI tools and intelligent automation platforms (e.g., Google Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier) and a track record of driving adoption of these technologies in a business context.

  • Familiarity with core Finance processes — Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, and Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting — and the change dynamics unique to Finance transformation programs.

  • Experience working within or alongside a Program Management Office (PMO), with an understanding of project lifecycle governance and portfolio management practices.

  • Proficiency with PMO and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Coda, Airtable, or similar platforms.

  • Experience in a high-growth, global, and fast-paced technology or media company.
