  • Enhance financial processes through automation and streamlining practices.
  • Engage in projects focusing on audit readiness and revenue recognition.
  • Research solutions for client operational pain points and develop innovative workarounds.
  • Foster relationships with third-party vendors to enhance accounting systems.
  • Mentor and lead junior staff through coaching efforts.

Full Job Description
Summary:

The CFO Advisory group is a high growth area within Wiss that will provide a unique opportunity across diverse client industries. The Manager, CFO Advisory will have an opportunity to make a significant impact at Wiss and with Wiss clients in the Greater NYC area. If you thrive off providing advisory expertise to clients and want to make an impact, this is an opportunity to become part of our collaborative, dynamic and entrepreneurial team. This position will be based in our Florham Park, NJ office. We are proud to offer candidates a hybrid work arrangement. The ideal candidate will have an Assurance or Advisory foundation within the public accounting sector.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Handle all core month-end close activities including prepare financial statements, cash flow, and post other month-end journal entries etc.
  • Partner with clients to maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary accounts to the general ledger.
  • Partner with CFO Advisory team members to develop pertinent KPIs for businesses, set targets, monitor progress, and make suggestions to business owners and or individuals of influence.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Accounting and Financial Processes through streamlining and automation.
  • Opportunity to work on projects such as audit readiness and revenue recognition.
  • Research third party solutions for client pain points, redundant tasks and or manual work that is performed outside of the accounting system.
  • Prepare written assessments and identify obstacles or issues that are not solved by your recommended solutions and develop workarounds.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with third party vendors. Make requests for system enhancements. Communicate new features to interested internal and external parties.
  • Lead, develop and inspire Staff through active coaching and mentorship.


Qualifications/Technical Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of public accounting experience (either Audit or Advisory) or a combination of public/private experience is optimal.
  • Bachelor's degree with an Accounting or Finance concentration required.
  • CPA or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Possess mid-sized ERP system experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Yardi, MS Dynamics etc).
  • Demonstrate a general sense of business issues and practices in the areas of sales tax, corporate taxes, partnership filing fees, 1099s, inventory, cost of goods, etc.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Polished written and verbal communication, comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership.
  • Versatile and possess the ability to shift priorities quickly including travel to clients when necessary.
  • Advocate and embrace opportunities to introduce and learn new technology solutions for both Wiss and Wiss clients.
  • Willingness to attend evening networking events and promote new business.
