SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Manager, Capex Reporting manages capital expenditure reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The Manager partners with Development/Design & Construction, Asset Management, Acquisitions, and Accounting to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent capital tracking and analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the annual budgeting process and the preparation and review of 10-year capital plans, including coordinating with Hotel Directors of Finance, Asset Management, and Cost Management.
- Compile and deliver the Capital Plan package to the Investment Committee for review and approval, ensuring accuracy and consistency across submissions.
- Support enhancements and upgrades to the department’s capital tracking platform (CHAMPION) to meet business and external partner needs.
- Leverage technology, including AI, to streamline processes, improve data quality and perform novel analysis on capital spend and project trends.
- Prepare internal and external management reports on project status and capital spend.
- Ensure timely project closeout in CHAMPION and maintain data integrity.
- Produce the quarterly business review with updates on cash flow forecast, major projects in construction and completed.
- Oversee and validate CEP cash flow inputs in property rent letters to support capital forecasting.
- Manage reimbursements to hotels for owner-funded capex, partnering with hotels to analyze and reconcile life-to-date (LTD) spending.
- Coordinate with Accounting to analyze general ledger capex additions to the Cash Flow Forecast Summary report and the CEP spreadsheet in the rent letter package.
- Partner with hotel directors of finance and the Fixed Asset group to streamline hotel reporting requirements and improve data quality.
- Partner with hotel directors of finance and project managers to ensure timely, accurate reporting in rent letters and CHAMPION.
- Support development and training for user groups on the project management platform.
- Maintain departmental procedures consistent with SOX requirements and support capital investment disclosures for external filings.
- Model continuous improvement and reinforce EPIC values in day-to-day interactions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- BS/BA from accredited university/college
- 5 years of accounting experience; fixed asset, lodging accounting, and reporting experience strongly preferred
