As a
Manager in the Analytics practice, you lead client engagements end-to-end-owning the quality of analytical delivery, developing your team, and building the trusted client relationships that define Blue Matter's reputation. You set the standard for analytical rigor while fostering a collaborative environment where people win together.
Primary ResponsibilitiesProject & Engagement Leadership
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent client engagements of varying complexity, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with exceptional quality standards
- Oversee project teams (onshore and offshore analysts and consultants), providing day-to-day direction, managing workstreams, and ensuring alignment to client objectives
- Develop comprehensive project plans, manage project finances (SOWs, budgets, invoicing), and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead the design and execution of complex analytical solutions across BMI's service offerings including forecasting, commercial analytics, field operations, market access analytics, and commercial modeling
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as primary client contact for assigned engagements, building trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders (VP/SVP level)
- Lead client discussions, discovery sessions, and strategic planning meetings to scope projects and align on deliverables
- Present analyses, recommendations, and strategic implications to senior leadership teams with clarity and conviction-always speaking the truth through data
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and support the development of proposals for new work
Analytical Solutions & Innovation
- Design and oversee execution of sophisticated analytical solutions tailored to each client's commercial context and product lifecycle stage
- Customize BMI's proprietary analytical tools and frameworks to address unique client challenges
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable strategic recommendations and compelling client narratives
- Stay current on analytical best practices, emerging tools, and industry trends to continuously strengthen BMI's offerings
People Development & Firm Contribution
- Recruit, mentor, and develop junior team members, providing career guidance and regular performance feedback
- Foster analytical excellence and structured problem-solving capabilities across project teams
- Contribute to BMI's methodological development, intellectual property, and best practices
- Lead or support internal initiatives to enhance analytical capabilities, tools, and service offerings
Desired Experience & SkillsTechnical & Domain Expertise
- Deep expertise in pharmaceutical quantitative modeling, commercial analytics, and financial modeling
- Proficiency with core 3rd-party datasets (provider unit data, payer access data, analog sales data, claims/EMR data)
- Advanced analytical skills spanning statistical modeling, forecasting, market access analytics, and scenario simulation
- Familiarity with U.S. coverage, payment, pricing dynamics, and government pricing frameworks
Leadership & Management
- Demonstrated experience managing project teams (onshore and offshore) and leading multiple concurrent engagements
- Strong project management skills including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior professionals
- Track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships at senior levels
Communication & Strategic Thinking
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present complex analyses to senior executives
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect analytical findings to commercial strategy
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex client environments
- Proven ability to integrate business and industry knowledge into creative, client-centric solutions
Qualifications- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or MS) in a quantitative field, life sciences, or business
- 6-9 years of quantitative analytical experience with demonstrated career progression
- Prior experience managing teams and client relationships in a consulting or professional services environment
- Experience in specialty therapeutics (oncology, rare disease) preferred
Compensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $190,000 - $225,000 per year. Generous incentive compensation structure.
