UITS invites applicants for the Manager, Access Management (Information Security Manager I) position. The Manager, Access Management leads the organization's access management system responsible for identity, authentication, authorization, and ensuring access aligns with security policies. This role develops departmental strategies, manages access integrations and activities, and drives continuous improvement of access management and processes.

This position is eligible for remote work within Arizona, subject to supervisor approval and department needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise information security analysts and access security operations activities.
  • Conduct annual risk assessments as required by the department and implement recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain departmental standards and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation of recommended security controls across systems.
  • Manage customer support requests and tickets.
  • Work with University departments regarding role creation and system integrations into Access Management Platforms.
  • Oversee process flows for access activities.
  • Work with and support campus professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with security regulations and frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR.
  • Support internal and external security audits and manage inbound audit requests.
  • Oversee the Access Provisioning Liaison (APL) and Data Steward process, ensuring roles are fulfilled and responsibilities are communicated.
  • Maintain documentation for policies and risk assessments.
  • Administer comprehensive reviews in support of audit compliance and remediation.
  • Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with University IT teams on new integrations and implementation.
  • Advise on security procedures, systems, and policies in the design of Access Provisioning services.
  • Prepare access metrics and dashboards, and share results with leadership.
  • Communicate process changes and updates to APLs, Data Stewards, and other departments.
  • Present findings from audits, incidents, and assessments.
  • Supervise 2+ FTE employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of security operations management and identity and access management principles.
  • Knowledge of security auditing, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks.
  • Skill in problem solving, technical analysis, and customer service.
  • Skill in communication, reporting, and project management.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
