Maintenance Turnaround Planning Manager

In your future role as a Maintenance Turnaround Planning Manager, you will

This role is critical in maintaining the operation of the facility and lab equipment to provide a safe working environment of lab personnel and site occupants and ensure the delivery of customer projects. Including:

  • The Maintenance Turnaround & Planning Manager is responsible to oversee the planning and execution process for all turnaround (shutdown) events, PMs and major maintenance projects.
  • Work together with the other peers to insure the feedback and PMs improvement, as well the proper technical support for the team.
  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis regarding equipment failure and bad actors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety departments, to plan and execute maintain according to the best practices.
  • Identify gaps in the current strategy/standards and work with the staff to address those, defining the proper plan (short/mid/long term).
  • Lead planning and scheduling for turnarounds, shutdowns, PMs and major maintenance events, coordinate the data frame and align the expectations with the proper stakeholders.
  • Ensure the plans are made in the proper time and evaluate cost savings and opportunities for the bigger events, capturing those on the plan and making sure those are standardized.
  • Ensure that maintenance work is properly planned and executed including:
    • work is performed according to the plan and provide feedback and support when needed).
    • follow the maintenance schedule.
    • after work is completed, documentation of activities and communication of issues and improvement opportunities are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Lead the communication with operations, engineering, procurement, and contractors to ensure readiness and scope alignment.
  • Monitor the KPIs during the work progress and proactively address deviations to meet performance targets.
  • Capture the opportunities and feedback during the events and feed post-turnaround reviews to capture lessons learned and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work together with peers to support the budget process mapping the PMs and one-time event for the following year.
  • Ensure that work activities are planned and executed safely, meeting regulatory and company requirements.
  • Manage and capture MRO opportunities.


We believe you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field required) OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in turnaround planning, maintenance, or project leadership within the chemical or process industry.
  • Proficient in SAP-PM.
  • Strong understanding of planning/ maintenance process flow (from notification to execution).
  • Proven leadership and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to impact and influence - able to persuade others to a particular course of action.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work normal responsibilities with minimal direction.


Compensation Information

The hiring salary range for this position ranges from $104,000.00 to $148,500.00, although individuals may eventually progress through the pay scale in this role up to $193,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals' qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive annual bonuses.
