Weyerhaeuser is accepting applications for Maintenance Technical Area Coordinators (MTACs) at its new Timberstrand facility in Monticello, Arkansas. This full-time, hourly production position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
The MTAC provides leadership for maintenance and reliability activities within an assigned area, ensuring equipment is maintained in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and operates safely and reliably. This hands-on role uses production and downtime data to establish work priorities and implement effective solutions. The MTAC serves as a key liaison among Maintenance, Operations, Planning, and Reliability to support production objectives and advance continuous improvement.
Qualified millwrights, electricians, and E&I/Control technicians who meet the requirements outlined below are encouraged to apply.
Key Functions:
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety by complying with all site requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined-space entry, and other applicable procedures established through training and operational standards.
- Champion proactive maintenance practices within assigned areas to enhance safety and equipment reliability.
- Support the onboarding, training, and development of new maintenance technicians within assigned areas.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and contribute to the timely execution of equipment repairs.
- Coordinate maintenance and operational activities with Operational Area Technical Coordinators (OTACs).
- Partner with OTACs to identify, prioritize, plan, and execute critical work.
- Participate in planning meetings to establish and coordinate work priorities for the assigned area.
- Maintain effective communication with other MTACs, OTACs, supervisors, maintenance technicians, Reliability personnel, and department managers.
- Assist the Reliability Manager with the development and implementation of preventive maintenance systems.
- Lead or contribute to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) to ensure completion of corrective actions designed to prevent recurring downtime.
- Participate in the development of the annual maintenance budget for the assigned area.
- Lead and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities necessary to preserve asset integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with contractors and plant production and maintenance associates.
- Use SAP to create and manage work notifications while building proficiency in the system's operational functions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five years of industrial skilled-trades experience as a millwright, electrician, E&I technician, mobile mechanic, or in a comparable role.
- Minimum of three years experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to support work-order, inventory, or maintenance activities.

- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Demonstrated Level 3 multi-craft or single trade capability - if single trade, must be willing and have the ability to develop into multi-craft.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the Monticello organization.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to learn and understand complex industrial systems.
- Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment, including lifting, climbing stairs and catwalks, and working in non-climate-controlled conditions.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Availability to respond to after-hours calls and work weekends or holidays as business needs require.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual gainshare program, and we are targeting an hourly range of $38.00 to $46.00 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. All hourly non-production and hourly production employees are eligible for overtime pay for work in excess of forty (40) hours in any one (1) work week.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: Vacation time is available on the 91st day of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
