This role supports reliable plant operations through strong maintenance practices, effective workforce leadership, and disciplined execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.

This is an opportunity to lead a skilled, multidisciplinary maintenance team and directly impact plant safety, equipment reliability, operational performance, and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Supervisor will have meaningful ownership of maintenance strategy, outage execution, team development, contractor coordination, and reliability initiatives in a complex industrial environment.

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead Mechanics, Welders, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, and Storekeepers while working closely with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Procurement, Quality, and site leadership. The role oversees the Long-Term Maintenance Plan, CMMS and work-order processes, maintenance planning and scheduling, outage execution, spare-parts inventory, budgeting, contractor management, mechanical integrity, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement across boilers, turbines, rotating machinery, electrical and instrumentation systems, and associated plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a safety leader, ensuring maintenance work complies with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental requirements, including NERC, NFPA, and National Electrical Code standards.
  • Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities while improving maintenance processes, system utilization, and preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team, including Mechanics, Welders, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, and Storekeepers.
  • Manage the maintenance work-order process, including planning, scheduling, backlog monitoring, prioritization, execution, closeout, and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on boilers, auxiliary, and associated plant equipment.
  • Partner with Procurement on contractor management and strategic sourcing, including scopes of work, bid packages, purchase requisitions, and vendor performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance procedures, Job Safety Analyses, and regulatory-compliance documentation.
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions using Root Cause Failure Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and other reliability methods.
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and related operational-excellence practices to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Communicate equipment risks, maintenance priorities, reliability strategies, and performance results to operators, engineers, quality personnel, and site leadership.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, coaching, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Provide support for rotating-shift, weekend, extended-hour, outage, and on-call employees as business needs require.

Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of maintenance experience in power generation, manufacturing, chemical processing, or a comparable heavy-industrial environment; thermomechanical treatment facility experience is preferred.
  • Proven supervisory or managerial experience leading industrial maintenance personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, steam turbines, rotating machinery, electrical systems, instrumentation, and associated plant equipment.
  • Experience in applying applicable safety, environmental, and labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience with maintenance-management and plant systems such as ALM, MMM, Experion, PeopleSoft, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong understanding of work management, maintenance planning and scheduling, preventive and predictive maintenance, mechanical integrity, reliability, and quality assurance.
  • Experience planning and leading major scheduled and unscheduled maintenance outages.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Experience managing spare-parts inventory, contractors, purchasing activities, and maintenance materials.
  • Experience writing maintenance procedures, contractor scopes of work, bid packages, work packages, and purchase requisitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify root causes, implement sustainable corrective actions, and lead organizational change.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Failure Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and other reliability-improvement tools.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data-driven maintenance reporting.
