Work Environment:This position is based full-time at the Shelbyville, IN manufacturing facility, with regular presence required on the production floor across all shifts, including periodic off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 operation. The plant environment includes exposure to manufacturing conditions typical of automotive glass processing, including heat (tempering/furnace areas), noise, glass handling, forklift and overhead crane traffic, and use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, steel-toed footwear) in designated areas. The role requires the physical ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods, climb stairs/platforms, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Office time is spent in a standard plant administration setting.
Essential Functions:- Responsible for PM Execution, unplanned event response, part management/availability and vendor management
- Ensure that all personnel reporting to this position carry on with their responsibilities in a safe and professional manner.
- Ensure personnel in this area are kept at the proper competency level through development, apprenticeship, coaching, etc.
- Ensure employees are provided appropriate recognition, guidance, or counseling on matters related to job performance and absenteeism.
- Maintain constructive and candid relationships by addressing opportunities in a timely manner.
- On shift review of critical equipment areas that service the entire plant
- Implement the maintenance safety program segments (ie. Audits, non-stock supply & permits)
- Ensure 5S standards in the maintenance area
- Ensure communication and root cause identification for on shift response items
- Ensure personnel schedules are kept up to date in Kronos system
- Ensure CMMS work order completion by personnel and audit of records
- Dispatch vendors as necessary for facility unplanned shift events
- Integrate with production operations supervisors on shift for implementation alignment
- Perform actions and recommendations to overcome technical downtime problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.
- Lead and manage the maintenance department toward a total preventive maintenance program to enhance link between maintenance and production.
. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical; or equivalent experience in maintenance supervision
- Skills trade certification (card) in at least one skills trade segment
- Strong, proven track record in results oriented, adaptable, standards driven, developing, influential and informative competencies
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a supervisor preferably in technical segments
- Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to interact with a wide variety of people
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines
Qualifications Desired:- Strong in analytical, innovative and strategic competencies
- Minimum 5 years' experience successfully managing hourly maintenance technicians in a high volume, 24/7 or (3 shift) manufacturing environment
