Job Summary

Oversee and perform maintenance to support day-to-day operations and maintain the physical assets of the property. Responsible for the performance of power equipment and vehicles, and routine maintenance. Set up, adjust, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and resolve safety issues; understand industrial safety practices and regulations.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, following safety and environmental regulations.
  • Support maintenance programs and coach other technicians.
  • Ensure all maintenance systems are adhered to for machinery, equipment, and buildings.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams in problem-solving projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and test equipment to verify correct operation and production.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, solve problems, and eliminate scrap and waste.
  • Record maintenance issues in the maintenance log.
  • Provide project management for system planners or contractors.
  • Share knowledge to improve processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Train and lead Maintenance Technicians and junior staff.
  • Partner with management to ensure a consistent maintenance program.
  • Perform technical maintenance jobs and other related duties as required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification / Licensure:

  • None

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or distribution; experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Must furnish own necessary hand tools (provided by the company).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime and have a flexible schedule.
  • Computer Skills, demonstrate basic knowledge of the CMMS system, able to export information from CMMS to a database, analyze, and create graphics that contribute to solve problems in a particular asset.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Electrical:
  • Practical application of instrumentation, controls, low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, transformers, programmable logic controllers, protective relays, and motor control centers. Performs maintenance on motor control centers, motor-operated valves, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Electronics: Troubleshoots and performs maintenance on AC and DC power equipment, process controls, programmable logic controls (PLC), and monitoring equipment.
  • Mechanical:
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose, inspect, repair, and test machinery. Pursues continuous improvement initiatives to drive OEE improvements. Modifies and/or replaces parts on all production and facility equipment as needed.
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic: Maintains, replaces, and repairs all pneumatic/hydraulic equipment and troubleshoots complex pneumatic system issues.
  • Additional Trades: Advanced knowledge in fields such as welding, plumbing, carpentry, and ladder logic programming.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Mechanical/electrical/electronic trade background, Journeyman or equivalent technical degree desired.

Certification / Licensure:

  • None

Work Experience:

  • 8+ years of maintenance experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Welding calibration experience, VFD & PLC knowledge.
  • Experience leading people and managing through influence.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Advanced understanding of machinery/equipment and ability to operate machinery such as lathes, mills, and drill presses.
  • PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$32.25 - $46.75 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.

Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
