Description The Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all facility operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable working environment. This role manages both the maintenance functions and facility services, including building systems, equipment, grounds, and vendor relationships. The manager leads maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Additionally, this position oversees facility planning, space utilization, and supports operational needs by maintaining high levels of uptime for critical equipment and infrastructure. The Maintenance and Facilities Manager plays a key role in developing budgets, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement across facility operations.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations for building systems, machinery, equipment, and grounds.
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
- Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance staff and contractors
- Coordinate and supervise facility repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee facility services such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and janitorial services.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and facility operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Develop centralized spare parts crib and a structured reorder process
- Implement technology to improve maintenance department including use of tablets and systems that support the team
Position Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with 6+ years relevant experience.
- Master's degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with 4+ years relevant experience.
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 3 years leading a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills and working in a union environment
- Technically proficient: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatics & Project management
