Full Job Description
As the SeniorMaintenance Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for plant maintenance and engineering functions, including facilities maintenance, process controls engineering, and project engineering. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager you will enhance the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant infrastructure and production systems while improving across equipment performance, automation, and capital project execution. The Maintenance Engineering Manager partners with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Corporate Engineering to support plant growth, system uptime, and long-term asset sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the maintenance organization responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across plant equipment, utilities, and building systems.
  • Ensure uptime performance meets plant production goals through planning, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee maintenance work order management, PM optimization, spare parts strategy, and contractor management.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements related to facilities, safety systems, and utilities (HVAC, electrical, water, air).
  • Help develop the site's process controls engineering team, ensuring support for automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, and data collection systems.
  • Drive system standardization, controls upgrades, cybersecurity compliance, and automation improvements to support safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Support troubleshooting of complex controls issues and guide root cause analysis for equipment failures or operational disturbances.
  • Oversee the project engineering team responsible for the planning, design, and execution of plant capital projects.
  • Help manage project budgets, timelines, and partner communication while ensuring understanding of plant strategy and our priorities.
  • Ensure all projects meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for risk assessment, safety, and quality.
  • Lead technical reviews, contractor coordination, and commissioning/startup activities.
  • Build the maintenance and engineering team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Champion safety culture, housekeeping, and adherence to all plant procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering-or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering, maintenance, or project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or complex technical functions.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, automation controls, and capital project management.
  • Expertise in driving reliability improvements and system uptime.
  • Experience in paint, chemical, or batch manufacturing operations. Professional certifications (PE, PMP, CMRP, Six Sigma/Lean).
  • Experience with CMMS systems, controls platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and process safety management.
  • Experience leading major capital projects, or plant transformations.
  • Experience supporting growth through capacity increases, new product introductions, or technology upgrades.
  • Experience in paint, chemical, or batch manufacturing operations including process safety management and electrical classification compliance.
