As a Machining Supervisor, you'll guide a skilled team, ensure production goals are met, and maintain the high standards required for Centrus' mission-critical programs. This is a role for someone who thrives on precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do- Manage a group of Machinists and Senior Machinists to ensure schedules are met and production goals achieve positive variances
- Report project status and progress to management as needed
- Maintain strong communication and seamless collaboration with design, manufacturing, operations, and testing teams
- Set up and operate machines to verify performance, capability, and conformance to customer specifications
- Interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specs, handbook formulas, layouts, and apply shop math (including trigonometry and descriptive geometry)
- Use all precision measuring tools-calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators-to ensure part quality and configuration.
- Select and install tools, fixtures, machine attachments, and equipment, identifying and correcting faulty tools when needed
- Monitor machining systems, including mechanical, electrical/electronic diagnostics, cutter data, probes, and sensors to adjust machine performance
- Maximize machine capacity while reducing setups and machining time
- Perform bench work and finishing operations to ensure parts meet required specifications
- Analyze drawings and specifications to plan machining operations and build sequences
- Ensure alignment, tolerances, finishes, and functionality meet engineering and manufacturing standards
We'd Love to Hear from People With- 5+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearance
A Successful Candidate Brings- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
- Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM and CREO Manufacturing software
- An active Q Clearance
Pay Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $80,310-133,850. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
