Responsibilities

  • Retrieve and review tooling prints for material and machining needs.
  • Perform all tasks related to building tool/die components for new and existing tools.
  • Utilize milling machines, drill presses, grinders, band saws, lathes, and measuring equipment.
  • Maintain project logs to record hours spent on each task.
  • Ensure environmental and safety requirements are met during all operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
  • Focus on achieving customer satisfaction through all duties performed.

Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

  • Salary Range: $37.00-$40.00/per hour
  • Retrieve and review tooling prints for material and machining requirements.
  • Perform all aspects of the tool/die component build for new and existing tools as directed by the tool & die maker requirements.
  • Work is completed through use of milling machines, drill presses, assorted grinders, band and cut-off saws, lathes, lay-out tables, measuring equipment and heat treat ovens;
  • Maintain the required forms for the purpose of recording the number of hours spent on each project


General Points
  • Ensure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties.
  • Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties.
  • Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.
  • Provide support in the attainment of Techform' s operating system goals as outlined by the key graphs.
  • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.


Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post secondary education with full certification as a general machinist with the associated apprenticeship is required
  • The ability to create and interpret prints is required
  • Knowledge of CNC principles is required
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM would be a definite asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Attention to detail is key
