Journeyperson Machinist to join our highly skilled team at our
Elkford, BC branch.
Base Wage: $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums apply
Location: Elkford, BC. Housing is available.
Schedule: 7x7 rotation
What You'll Do- Study specifications, charts, drawings or sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances and prepare working sketches if necessary.
- Measure and mark metal and other materials/fine tolerances required.
- Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
- Set up and operate tools, which may be computer numerically controlled, to perform precision machining operations.
- Fit parts to mechanisms and verify dimensions.
- Interpret work order and technical manuals.
- Complete job specific reports and paperwork as needed.
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
- Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
- This role works in the shop and field as required.
What You BringThe successful candidate will have a
Machinist Journeyperson. Other requirements include:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
- Heavy equipment experience is required.
- Line boring experience is required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- The ability to use precision measuring tools.
- The ability to follow instruction, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, acute safety awareness.
- The ability and attitude to ensure compliance to all workplace health and safety policies.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
