ABOUT THE TEAMAnduril's Manufacturing Automation team is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to join our team on 2nd Shift. The Manufacturing Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- System Development: Assist in the design and implementation of machine vision systems for industrial automation, quality inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring.
- Hardware Setup: Help select, test, validate, and maintain core vision components including cameras, lenses, lighting, and controllers.
- Deployment & Support: Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of vision systems on production lines under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate inspection systems and receive technical mentorship from senior engineering staff.
- Troubleshooting: Help investigate and resolve vision system errors and process failures using root-cause analysis methods.
- Training Assistance: Assist in training production staff on daily operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance of vision equipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience or academic project work involving machine vision systems or manufacturing environments.
- Vision Platforms: Exposure to or basic familiarity with industrial hardware ecosystems like Cognex, Keyence, Basler, or Sick.
- Programming: Foundational coding skills in Python, C#, or C++.
- Optics Basics: Basic understanding of camera selection, lens optics, lighting techniques, and sensor calibration.
- Automation Exposure: Basic knowledge of how vision systems interface with industrial controls like PLCs and robotics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Libraries & Frameworks: Academic or internship experience with core vision software like OpenCV, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Software Practices: Familiarity with modern development workflows, including Git version control.
- 3D Vision: Exposure to 3D imaging techniques like structured light or stereo vision.
- Smart Manufacturing: Familiarity with factory automation software or IIoT protocols.
- Security Clearance: Possession of an active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
US Salary Range
$115,000-$171,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
