What You'll Do:- As the M&A Tax Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading Riveron's national M&A Tax practice. You will be directly responsible for overseeing MD-level professionals, expanding the firm's market presence, and driving client impact. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the firm's M&A Tax function, guiding strategy, execution, and growth.
- Advise private equity firms and corporate clients on tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and joint ventures.
- Oversee and lead due diligence, identifying and quantifying key tax exposures and communicating findings clearly to client executives and deal teams.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures for complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
- Collaborate with Riveron's Transaction Services, Tax, Accounting Advisory, Restructuring, and Business Transformation teams to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.
- Drive revenue growth by cultivating client relationships, originating opportunities, and expanding Riveron's brand in the transaction tax space.
- Lead and mentor a team of MDs and senior professionals, ensuring strong execution, team development, and succession planning.
- Represent Riveron externally as a thought leader in M&A tax and deal advisory.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master's in taxation, JD/LLM, or CPA license strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive tax experience with a strong focus on M&A/transactions tax.
- Background in transaction tax at Big 4, national advisory, or boutique transactions tax practice.
- Extensive experience advising on buy-side and sell-side transactions, including domestic and cross-border deals.
- Deep relationships with private equity firms and corporate executives, with proven ability to originate and grow client engagements.
- Strong external market credibility, evidenced by client relationships, industry presence, and a demonstrable book of business.
- Demonstrated track record of managing and mentoring senior professionals.
- Recognized as a thought leader or subject matter expert in transaction tax and deal structuring.
