Full Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, supports regulatory compliance, and promotes individualized, trauma-informed, person-centered care that strengthens recovery, independence, and community transition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and oversee the facility's mental health rehabilitation program.
  • Guide clinical assessments, individualized treatment planning, service recommendations, progress reviews, and discharge preparation.
  • Provide clinical consultation, direction, and supervision to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Monitor clinical programming and documentation for quality, effectiveness, resident rights, and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote trauma-informed care, illness management and recovery, wellness recovery planning, crisis prevention, and other evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with executive, psychiatric, nursing, quality, community-provider, resident, and family teams.

REQUIRED LPHA QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a current, unrestricted professional license, be legally authorized to practice within its scope, and qualify as an Illinois Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts through one of the following:
  • Physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a psychiatric specialty
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a master's degree
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master's or doctoral degree

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Clinical leadership or supervision; service to adults with serious mental illness; recovery-oriented treatment planning; behavioral-health documentation; and familiarity with Illinois SMHRF, DHS-DMH, Medicaid, and resident-rights requirements.
TRAINING REQUIREMENT
The selected candidate must complete prescribed DHS-DMH initial and annual training related to mental illness, mental health services, psychiatric rehabilitation, State administrative requirements, and the mental health service system.
