Description

Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is inviting applications for a new position in the rank of ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (SCHOLARLY TRACK) within the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center (LVRRC), the low vision division within the Wilmer Eye Institute.

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong commitment and track record of translational work bringing new and validated diagnostic tools, treatment procedures, and assistive technologies to patients with visual impairment. LVRRC houses clinical and research branches that work closely in clinical care and research innovation. The candidate is expected to work with researchers and clinicians across ophthalmic subspecialities. Academic rank and salary will be based on prior funding and academic track record.

*The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Ophthalmology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Ophthalmology incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates with Ph.D. degrees in fields relevant to vision science or a related discipline
  • Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and abilities to work with interdisciplinary teams


Desired Qualifications.

  • Strong analytical and coding skills and experience in modeling, functional assessment, patient reported outcomes, and statistical analysis
  • Success with grant applications
  • Past experience leading a research team
  • Mentoring experience
