Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HAZMAT Chemical and Gas Material Manager to join our semiconductor manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the safe and compliant management, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials and gases. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of DOT HAZMAT, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations, and a strong background in vendor management, KPI development, and compliance with international fire and building codes.

This position plays a critical role in leading logistics and safety initiatives, managing material vendor performance, and ensuring operational excellence through efficient processes, detailed reporting, and cross-functional team engagement.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Lead hazardous materials and gas logistics operations, ensuring full compliance with DOT HAZMAT, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), International Fire Code, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers and warehouse operations, including contract administration, KPI development, SLA performance, issue resolution, and continuous vendor improvement.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process improvements to optimize material flow, inventory availability, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of critical material movements and specialized shipments to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and R&D operations.
  • Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, resolve complex logistics issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the logistics subject matter expert for cross-functional projects and executive leadership by providing risk assessments, operational updates, reports, and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing logistics team while fostering a culture of safety, compliance, operational excellence, and customer-focused service.


Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in hazardous materials management in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT HAZMAT and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations.
  • Familiarity with International Fire Code (IFC) and building codes related to chemical and gas storage/transport.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.


The current base salary range for this role is between $85,000 - $135,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
