Position Summary:The Lithography Technician will play a key role in operating, developing, and maintaining novel lithography systems to enable Irradiant's 3D nanofabrication platform. This role requires expertise in microscope operation, materials processing, and analysis, along with a hands-on approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to drive lithographic tooling to generate prototype and production volumetric prints, support experimental measurements to collect scientific insights and improve lithographic processes into scalable, manufacturable solutions.
This is a hands-on, mentorship-oriented role for an early-mid career technician eager to learn quickly, take direction, and take on more ownership over time in a fast-paced deep-tech environment.
What You'll Do:- Support the maintenance, operation & optimization of the entire lithography printing workflow.
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols and best practices.
- Assist with continuous troubleshooting & maintenance of lithography systems to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Operate multiple lithographic systems with differing functionality and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with optics, metrology, and software/hardware engineers to develop, verify and implement new lithography system features.
- Support the scale-up of experimental printing into high-volume manufacturing.
- Monitor lithography print output for consistency and quality.
What You'll Bring:- Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, working with materials preparation and characterization.
- Process-oriented, with a methodical and documentation-first approach to your work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions and written experimental protocols.
- Experience with sensitive materials handling.
- Experience with data analysis and documentation of experimental results.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research and development environment.
- Familiarity with common materials characterization techniques (e.g. profilometry, ellipsometry, spectroscopy, optical and electron microscopy).
- Previous experience in a high-tech manufacturing/production environment would be advantageous.
- Proven experience or research into lithographic printing techniques would be advantageous.
- Desirable; hands-on lithography skills, programming (Python, MATLAB), laser experience.
Compensation & Benefits:The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000, and we are committed to equitable compensation across the company. Total compensation includes equity in the form of stock options.
