Linux System Administrator to join our team in
Laurel, MD.You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a System Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Administer, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems to ensure high performance and reliability. Responsible for OS installation, system health and security integrity, network component configuration, and executing continuous system enhancements.
- Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required. Five (5) years of additional System Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- 20+ years' experience as a System Administration in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading Systems Administration/Engineering efforts is required
- Must be proficient troubleshooting in a Linux environment
- Experience with VMware
- IAT I certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of starting employment. Acceptable certifications include A+ CE/CCNA-Security/CND/Network+ CE /CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)
Preferred Qualifications: - Based on program and technical requirements, evaluates and recommends appropriate hardware, software and services solutions.
- Experience/familiarization with full lifecycle management of Linux systems, to include provisioning, configuration management and patching.
- Red Hat Certified System Administration Certification.
- Experience with NetAPP
Clearance Requirements:- Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
