Full Job Description
We are seeking a senior MedTech strategy leader with deep understanding of physician and allied medical staff customers across MedTech segments. This leader will bring an outside-in clinical customer perspective to our clients and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, vision, offerings, and activation agenda for our segment-focused Centers of Excellence, including surgery, diabetes, diagnostics, and other priority MedTech markets.
You Are:
• A deep MedTech strategist. You translate market shifts, clinical practice patterns, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and technology disruption into clear choices for growth, portfolio direction, customer strategy, and operating model activation.
• A clinical customer expert. You understand how physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, and other allied medical staff evaluate, adopt, use, and advocate for medical technologies across care settings.
• A segment authority. You bring meaningful depth in one or more MedTech segments and can connect segment-specific clinical and economic realities with enterprise-wide strategic implications.
• A recognized thought leader. You develop distinctive, evidence-based points of view and represent them credibly with C-suite, business unit, clinical, and commercial leaders through executive forums, publications, conferences, and client advisory work.
• A strategy-to-activation leader. You do not stop at the answer. You convert strategic choices into practical roadmaps, capability priorities, operating models, investment cases, and mobilized workstreams.
• A natural connector. You integrate clinical, commercial, technology, data, AI, product, and operating model perspectives and build trusted relationships across clients, partners, and the broader MedTech ecosystem.
• A leader worth following. You set a high bar for strategic rigor, develop people, and create inclusive teams that deliver high-quality outcomes.
The Work:
• This role is focused on growing and shaping Accenture's MedTech Strategy business. Beyond leading client engagements, you will define market strategy, create industry-leading points of view, cultivate C-suite relationships, and help establish Accenture as the preferred strategy partner within the MedTech ecosystem.
• You will be a key driver of our MedTech Strategy and Growth agenda: building client relationships, shaping compelling propositions, closing engagements, and developing the next generation of Accenture consultants. AI fluency is central to how we work and what we sell.
• You will help MedTech clients rethink growth in a rapidly changing environment, helping them deploy AI, unlock new sources of revenue, optimize investment and portfolio decisions, and drive activation in market.
• In this role, you will bring a deep and market-relevant understanding of MedTech customers across segments. You will use this to shape and activate Accenture MedTech’s COEs across priority segments, including surgery, diagnostics, diabetes, and other key segments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise MedTech C-suite and business unit leaders on enterprise, portfolio, growth, customer, and segment strategy, with particular emphasis on the needs of physicians and allied medical staff.
• Lead client engagements from insight through activation, including market and customer assessment, strategic option development, business case creation, roadmap design, and implementation mobilization.
• Connect clinical customer insight with commercial and enterprise decisions across innovation, portfolio strategy, go-to-market, customer experience, education and training, service, digital solutions, and AI-enabled engagement.
• Develop differentiated points of view on the future of MedTech segments, care pathways, clinical workflows, customer expectations, and the role of data, digital, and AI in improving customer and patient outcomes.
• Shape the strategy and vision for Accenture's MedTech Centers of Excellence, defining where each COE will differentiate, the priority client problems it will solve, and the assets, partnerships, and capabilities required to win.
• Translate COE strategy into activation plans, including market-facing propositions, lighthouse pursuits, executive engagement, research agendas, reusable assets, alliance plays, and talent communities.
• Build senior relationships across strategy, business unit, medical, clinical, R&D, marketing, commercial, and operations leadership, positioning Accenture as a trusted partner for high-value strategic decisions.
• Originate and shape major strategy-led opportunities, working across Accenture Strategy & Consulting, Technology, Song, Industry X, Data & AI, and Operations to bring the best of Accenture to clients.
• Build strategy frameworks, playbooks, benchmarks, and reusable intellectual property that improve the quality and speed of client work and pursuit shaping.
• Identify and incubate high-potential offerings at the intersection of segment expertise, clinical customer needs, data, digital, AI, and new commercial models.
• Mentor senior and emerging talent, strengthening MedTech segment knowledge, clinical customer fluency, and strategy capabilities across the practice.
• Travel based on client and business needs, potentially up to 75%.
Here's What You Need:
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in MedTech strategy, healthcare strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, business unit leadership, clinical/commercial strategy, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of 8 years of deep experience in at least one MedTech segment such as surgery, diabetes, diagnostics, cardiovascular, orthopedics, imaging, patient monitoring, or digital health.
• Demonstrated expertise in physician and allied medical staff customers, including clinical workflows, decision drivers, adoption barriers, evidence needs, training requirements, and stakeholder dynamics across care settings.
• Minimum of 5 years of consulting or strategy leadership experience, with a strong record of structuring ambiguous problems, developing executive-level recommendations, and leading strategy through activation.
• Demonstrated experience shaping enterprise, business unit, portfolio, growth, customer, innovation, or go-to-market strategy in MedTech.
• Demonstrated thought leadership through research, publications, conference participation, executive forums, industry engagement, or C-suite advisory work.
• Ability to originate and shape client opportunities and build trusted senior relationships, while bringing a strategy-led and collaborative approach to business development.
• Working fluency in the implications of AI, data, digital health, connected products, and ecosystem models for MedTech strategy and clinical customer engagement.
• Bachelor's degree.
Bonus Points If:
• Advanced degree in business, public health, health policy, medicine, nursing, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Direct experience working with or alongside physicians, nurses, technicians, or other allied medical staff in clinical, research, product, education, or advisory settings.
• Experience across multiple MedTech segments or care settings, with the ability to identify transferable patterns while respecting segment-specific differences.
• Experience creating and activating a Center of Excellence, industry platform, strategic capability, market offering, or comparable cross-functional initiative.
• Experience with clinical workflow redesign, customer journey research, human-centered design, professional education, medical affairs, evidence strategy, market development, or new category creation.
• A strong network across MedTech executives, clinicians, professional societies, health systems, academic institutions, technology partners, and innovation ecosystems.
• Recognized market presence within the MedTech ecosystem and a track record of turning thought leadership into client dialogue, differentiated offerings, and business growth.
