Market Anesthesia Technician, you'll take your anesthesia expertise beyond a single hospital, supporting and leading complex cases and collaborating with emergency and specialty teams across multiple locations. You'll serve as an advanced clinical resource, working alongside experienced clinicians and specialists while mentoring fellow veterinary professionals and helping elevate anesthesia practices throughout the market.

Compensation$30.00-$55.00 per hour
Compensation is based on experience, clinical competencies, and advancement through our competency assessment tool. VTS credentialed technicians are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
What You'll Do:Advanced Anesthesia & Patient Care- Support complex surgical and diagnostic procedures by implementing individualized anesthetic protocols in collaboration with veterinarians.
- Monitor anesthetized patients, interpret vital parameters, recognize complications, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Perform advanced technical skills, including IV catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and airway management.
- Manage fluid therapy, CRIs, infusion pumps, and anesthesia equipment, including troubleshooting and ventilator support.
- Provide comprehensive perioperative care, including patient assessment, preparation, anesthetic monitoring, recovery, and post-operative management.
- Maintain accurate medical records and demonstrate strong medical math and drug calculation skills.
Clinical Leadership & Mentorship- Serve as a clinical resource for technicians and support staff across multiple hospital locations.
- Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance to strengthen anesthesia knowledge and technical skills.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership to promote consistent anesthesia practices and high standards of patient care.
Qualifications- Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential.
- Advanced hands-on anesthesia experience, preferably in an emergency, critical care, or specialty setting.
- Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring, analgesia, airway management, and perioperative nursing.
- Proficiency with anesthesia equipment, monitoring technology, ventilators, and infusion systems.
- Ability to recognize and respond to anesthetic complications and changes in patient condition.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to provide occasional support at multiple hospital locations.
