Job DescriptionOlsson provides multidisciplinary design services for transportation projects spanning DOT and municipal roadway systems, including urban and rural highways, interchanges, and local streets. As a Licensed Roadway Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects, with a strong emphasis on
enclosed storm sewer drainage design. Responsibilities include preparing roadway and drainage plans and specifications, performing and reviewing design and hydraulic calculations, developing cost estimates, and supporting project management efforts. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, agency partners, and clients, contribute to technical decision-making, and help mentor junior staff. The role also includes participation in client meetings and occasional field observations, offering involvement throughout the full project lifecycle.

You bring to the team:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 6-10 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, including DOT and/or municipal roadway projects.
- Demonstrated experience in enclosed storm sewer drainage design, including hydraulic analysis, plan development, and coordination with roadway design.
- Proficiency with roadway and drainage design software such as Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Nebraska, or ability to obtain reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, agency partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to project delivery, technical problem-solving, and mentoring of junior staff.
