Full Job Description
Regular Full-Time Position - (1.0 FTE)

This position is at the L07 level with an hourly pay range of $41.83 - $52.93

(PSAC Bargaining Unit)

Under the supervision of the Clinical Care Manager/Clinical Nurse Leader, and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care within their scope for the comfort of patients. Incumbents also perform treatments and procedures to aid in supportive and curative measures for patient care and participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional nursing care;
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field;
  • Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing;
  • Effective interpersonal skills;
  • Initiative, judgment and reliability;
  • Advocacy and assertiveness skills;
  • Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant unit skills;
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • Cross-Cultural awareness


The successful candidate is required to have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) and have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R) certification. Practicum placements during Degree program in areas related to acute care, any specialty service area (i.e. Maternity/ED), hospitals or health centers focusing on the health of First Nations, Inuit, Metis populations is desired.
