Skills and Competencies - 7-10 years of professional writing experience in corporate communications, journalism, speechwriting, or a related field

- Strong research and industry monitoring skills, with the ability to proactively identify speaking, media, and thought leadership opportunities
- Genuine curiosity about markets, credit, regulation, and the sectors Moody's serves, with the initiative to surface opportunities rather than simply execute assignments
- Proven ability to draft and edit quickly and accurately under deadline pressure, including on sensitive or fast-moving topics
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with executive teams, communications colleagues, investor relations, and business stakeholders to deliver accurate and aligned content

Education - Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field
Responsibilities Drive executive communications and thought leadership for the CEO, CFO and CAO, turning strategic priorities into impactful content across platforms.
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of each executive's strategic priorities, established voice, and narrative positioning to ensure all communications are consistent, purposeful, and on-brand, while keeping files, systems, relevant recordings and version histories organized and accessible to support consistency and future content development
- Monitor industry news, market developments, and competitor activity to proactively surface relevant speaking, media, and thought leadership opportunities for each executive
- Draft executive communications - including remarks, talking points, op-eds, briefing materials, and written commentary - working across three distinct executive voices from established voice guidance
- Write and edit enterprise content supporting Moody's brand, reputation, and thought leadership, including award submissions, leadership bylines, and recognition campaigns
- Support crisis and routine corporate communications with fast, accurate drafting under tight deadlines
- Partner with colleagues across MCO Reputation, Corporate Affairs, and each executive's team - including Chiefs of Staff, Investor Relations, and business partners - to keep content accurate, timely, and strategically aligned
- Track opportunity pipelines and engagement outcomes to help refine communications strategy over time
- Manage multiple concurrent writing and research assignments with a high bar for quality and fast turnaround

The team uses AI-powered tools to accelerate research, synthesize information, explore content concepts, and streamline drafting and editing-while applying human judgment, rigorous review, and responsible AI practices to protect accuracy, confidentiality, and each leader's authentic voice. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $125,800.00 - $182,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
