As Legal Counsel, you will collaborate across functions, build trusted relationships, and work beyond hierarchies, borders, and locations. What makes this opportunity exciting? You will report directly to the Global Head of Legal & Compliance and become an integral part of a globally positioned Legal & Compliance team supporting an international business. You will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple regions and contribute to the continued development of a collaborative and internationally connected legal function. You will oversee a broad range of legal matters, provide strategic legal guidance to senior leadership and business stakeholders, and take ownership of legal operations across the business.
  • Advise on key business decisions, essentially acting as the primary legal authority for the business in the Americas.
  • Provide counseling and legal advice on a full spectrum of business and legal topics as well as draft, review and negotiate a wide array of complex commercial agreements and legal documents.
  • Oversee and handle corporate legal matters of U.S. legal entity and its subsidiaries, including coordination and communication with governmental authorities.
  • Handle contractual matters of the business in particular with regards to IT-Law related topics (e.g. AI applications, SaaS business models, software license agreements etc.)
  • Act as legal advisor to the business over the product life cycle by providing legal support during product development, going to market, for quality issues, as well for day-to-day business related legal matters.
  • Hire, coordinate and monitor external counsel for specific legal matters.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or political science required.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association Membership with good standing in at least one U.S. State Bar is required.
  • Must have at least 3+ years of broad legal practice and knowledge, with a strong foundation across various legal domains, encompassing corporate law, contract law, employment law, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property.
  • Ethical Judgment: Unquestionable integrity and a commitment to ethical conduct ensuring organizational compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to creatively address legal challenges and propose solutions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to translate and/or convey complex legal concepts clearly to executives, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide legal advice that aligns with the organization's long-term goals, which requires forward-thinking, in anticipation of legal issues and provide active solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information, possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  • Strong business acumen with a high degree of self-motivation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, and prior experience/knowledge in AI-powered productivity tools and software is preferred.
  • Experience in a global environment preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% is required, both domestically and internationally.


Additional Information

This position is a salaried position with a compensation range between $130,000.00 - $160,000.00.
