Opportunity to work with a leader in the Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) space. Our APIs and SDKs are used by customers around the globe.The development team is expanding to meet the growing demand for services in the CPaaS market and we're looking for a hands-on Team Leader with strong backend development and QA experience to join the team. - 2 positions (Lead and Sr).
Produce well designed and tested production quality code
Manage a team of both Software Engineers and SDET/QA Automation Engineers
Develop team members performance and training plans, ensuring that they align with the company's objectives and the individuals career goals
Participate in the development process: design, development, testing, and deployment
Implementation of highly available and scalable services
Participate in design and code reviews to help increase the quality of our products
Support existing systems while making enhancements towards future architecture
Choose the best technology for the situation, sometimes it's the boring one.
Execute tests, analyze and report test results of your work
Plans and coordinates all the activities of the team
Ensures operational continuity of the team and proactively escalates any potential risks
Works with other team's Lead Software Engineer to coordinate cross team communication
Interact with business units effectively regarding requirements and specifications
Personally solves escalated requests or forwards them to next level of authority for resolution
Participate in hiring process of Software Engineer and SDET/QA Automation Engineers
Requirements
Strong hands on software engineering experience (at least 3 years)
1+ year Hands on coding experience (Python is ideal)
1+ year experience creating APIs
Understanding of development best practices and standards (design patterns, coding standards, etc.)
1+ years experience in team management
Good SQL and database design skills
Knowledge of basic Linux system administration tasks
A solid grounding in version control and experience working with a team using Git
Must be a self-learner with strong problem solving and analytical skills
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Prior Agile/Scrum hands-on experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
A clear understanding of QA principles and methodology and the ability to apply this understanding directly to concrete QA problems
Good knowledge of various testing practices
Pluses
Experience with REST API development.
Proficiency with Jenkins/Hudson, Python, regex.
Experience using xUnit test frameworks (JUnit,PHPUnit, TestNG, nose, etc.).
Experience with high volume web services. Caching, distributed processing, replication and performance profiling.
Experience testing in both Linux
At least two years of experience testing commercial applications.
Experience testing web services (REST).
