Full Job Description
Lead Site Safety Specialists provide project-specific safety support by monitoring compliance with company, state, and federal safety standards. Serving in an advisory role to project management, they apply their expertise to foster a positive health and safety culture and ensure occupational risks are effectively controlled. They also instruct and educate field employees to maintain safe work practices.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Site Safety Inspections: Conduct periodic on-site safety inspections, evaluating work practices to determine safe methods for performing tasks.
  • Case Management: Knowledge of loss control, accident investigation, and medical case management, gained through prior experience or documented on-the-job training.
  • Orientation: Coordinate and conduct new employee orientation and ensure completion of customer site orientation.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas verbally and in writing. Comfortable speaking in front of groups, site management, or customer representatives.
  • Hazard Recognition: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions to control occupational risks.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with construction safety work rules in Supervisor Safety Manuals and OSHA regulations (Parts 1910 and 1926).
  • Leadership: Ability to manage a small team of Field Safety Specialists or operate independently on a project.
  • Certifications: Current Basic First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Background Check: Clear graded background check.


PREFERED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in safety and risk management programs or occupational safety and health, preferably within the construction industry, and consistently meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
  • Knowledge of marine and land piling operations is highly desirable.
