About the OpportunityOur client is seeking a
Lead Planning Master Data professional to own and continuously improve the planning master data framework supporting demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, and inventory operations.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical supply chain professional with strong
ERP/MRP and master data expertise who understands how planning parameters directly impact inventory, service levels, backorders, and overall supply chain performance.
The Lead will work cross-functionally with
Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, IT, Finance, Quality, and R&D to ensure planning data is accurate, standardized, scalable, and compliant within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Own global governance standards for planning master data across plants and regions.
- Manage and validate critical planning parameters including lead times, safety stock, lot sizing, reorder points, planning strategies, sourcing rules, BOMs, and capacity parameters.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for MRP logic and ERP system behavior, identifying and resolving root causes of shortages, excess inventory, rescheduling, and other planning issues.
- Lead master data cleansing, harmonization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple systems and sites.
- Partner with IT and Planning teams on ERP enhancements, system upgrades, automation, and data-quality initiatives.
- Develop audit controls, exception reporting, and analytics to proactively identify master data issues and parameter drift.
- Support new product introductions, product lifecycle transitions, and phase-in/phase-out activities by ensuring appropriate planning setup.
- Partner with Demand and Supply Planning teams to improve forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and backorder performance.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and advanced analytics to monitor data accuracy, planning health, and inventory risk.
- Lead root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives related to systemic planning and ERP performance.
- Establish scalable processes to support business growth, acquisitions, and expansion across a global manufacturing environment.
Qualifications- 8-12+ years of experience in supply chain planning, planning master data, master data governance, or ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment; medical device experience strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of MRP logic, planning parameters, inventory optimization, BOM structures, and capacity planning.
- Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, or a comparable ERP/MRP system in a multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety stock, lead times, lot sizing, reorder points, sourcing strategies, and planning methodologies.
- Advanced Excel and data analytics capabilities.
- Experience with Power BI strongly preferred.
- SQL, database management, or data extraction experience preferred.
- Understanding of FDA/ISO-regulated environments and formal change-control processes.
- APICS CPIM/CSCP certification strongly preferred.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation skills.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Comfortable operating independently as a technical subject matter expert.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% as needed.
