Labcorp is seeking a Lead IT Business Analyst to join our team in Burlington, NC / Durham, NC.
Work Schedule: Burlington, NC and Durham, NC / Hybrid | Full-time | Reports to: Executive Director, Package Software Support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead business analysis activities for large-scale, complex, and cross-functional technology initiatives, including application enhancements, system implementations, modernization efforts, and process improvements.
  • Partner with business and IT leadership to understand strategic objectives, evaluate solution options, assess impacts and trade-offs, and recommend approaches that support business and technology outcomes.
  • Lead requirements discovery and analysis through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and other elicitation techniques, translating complex business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze current-state business processes, systems, workflows, and data flows to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement; define future-state processes and business solutions.
  • Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they are complete, traceable, testable, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives, while effectively managing scope and requirement changes.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineering teams, project leaders, and other cross-functional partners to evaluate solution designs, refine backlogs, support delivery, and ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between business and technology stakeholders, translating complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences, and proactively addressing risks, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality business analysis of deliverables, including business requirements, process models, solution specifications, data flows, decision documentation, and other supporting materials.
  • Support solution validation and implementation activities, including requirements coverage, test case review, user acceptance testing, defect triage, change readiness, training, and post-implementation evaluation.
  • Contribute to technology roadmap planning, initiative prioritization, portfolio-level decision-making, and continuous improvement efforts across business systems and technology capabilities.
  • Establish and promote consistent business analysis standards, methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices to improve quality and effectiveness across initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Business Analysts, including coaching, deliverable reviews, knowledge sharing, and development of business analysis capabilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on complex business systems initiatives, helping stakeholders navigate ambiguity, evaluate alternatives, and make informed decisions that drive measurable business value.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 or more years of experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, systems analysis, and technology solutions.
  • 8 or more years of experience analyzing complex business and technical requirements and translating business needs into effective technology solutions.
  • 8 or more years of experience supporting enterprise-scale technology implementations, system enhancements, modernization initiatives, or business process improvement efforts.
  • 8 or more years of experience leading business analysis activities for complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business and technology stakeholders.
  • 8 or more years of experience evaluating business processes, systems, and solution options and providing recommendations aligned with business objectives and technology strategy.
  • 8 or more years of experience partnering with business leaders, technology teams, product owners, architects, and project teams to support solution delivery and achieve strategic and operational objectives.
  • 8 or more years of experience facilitating stakeholder discussions, managing requirements and scope, and influencing decisions across diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration
  • 8 or more years of experience supporting enterprise transformation, technology modernization, operational excellence, or strategic business initiatives within complex organizations.
  • 8 or more years of experience with solution governance, technology portfolio planning, organizational change management, or enterprise process improvement initiatives.
  • 8 or more years of experience mentoring and developing Business Analysts and providing guidance on complex analysis activities and deliverables.
  • 8 or more years of experience establishing or improving business analysis standards, methodologies, tools, documentation practices, and best organizational practices.
  • 8 or more years of experience working in large, complex, cross-functional, or highly matrixed environments and partnering with business and technology stakeholders at multiple levels

  • Adaptability & Continuous Improvement: Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and identify opportunities to improve business analysis practices, processes, and organizational effectiveness.
