Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Lead Instructor & Enterprise Training Manager is responsible for building, leading, and continuously improving the organization's national enterprise instructor workforce across all employer-sponsored training programs. This role owns the complete instructor lifecycle; from recruiting and qualifying exceptional instructors to managing instructor performance and designing the systems, standards, and professional development programs that ensure consistent, best-in-class delivery across every client engagement.

Connecting education, skilled trades, and enterprise workforce development, this individual is responsible for developing a high-performing instructor organization capable of supporting a growing portfolio of employer partnerships across multiple industries, campuses, and customer sites. The role combines strategic workforce planning with hands-on leadership and is accountable for ensuring that every instructor represents the highest standards of technical expertise, instructional excellence, professionalism, and customer experience.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in workforce education, adult learning, instructor development, enterprise operations, and skilled trades training. Equally important, they will bring a commercial mindset, exceptional leadership capability, and a proven track record of recruiting, developing, coaching, and retaining outstanding instructional talent while building scalable systems that support organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

Instructor Recruitment & Workforce Development

  • Serve as the organization's lead for recruiting and developing a national network of instructors capable of delivering enterprise workforce training programs across multiple industries, technical disciplines, and customer environments.

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all enterprise instructor positions across electrical, HVAC, welding, industrial maintenance, safety, leadership, data center, and emerging workforce programs.

  • Develop recruitment strategies that proactively build a scalable instructor pipeline aligned with projected business growth.

  • Source candidates through industry associations, apprenticeship programs, unions, manufacturers, contractors, military transition programs, technical colleges, professional organizations, and industry networks.

  • Conduct technical interviews, instructional demonstrations, and competency assessments to evaluate technical expertise, instructional effectiveness, leadership capability, communication skills, and cultural fit.

  • Verify qualifications, certifications, licenses, and industry experience.

  • Build and maintain a national instructor talent database to support rapid deployment as new client opportunities emerge.

  • Forecast instructor capacity and staffing requirements based on customer demand, program launches, pilot projects, and geographic expansion.

  • Continuously identify instructor talent before demand requires immediate hiring.

Instructor Management & Enterprise Operations

  • Serve as the direct leader of the enterprise instructor workforce and oversee every aspect of instructor readiness, deployment, utilization, and performance across the organization's B2B training portfolio.

  • Directly manage enterprise instructors throughout the entire employment lifecycle.

  • Conduct regular coaching conversations, performance evaluations, developmental planning, and corrective action when necessary.

  • Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, responsiveness, and instructional excellence.

  • Manage instructor assignments, scheduling, deployment, utilization, travel, and customer placement across multiple concurrent enterprise programs.

  • Coordinate instructor logistics for pilots, new client launches, campus-based delivery, employer site delivery, and recurring customer engagements.

  • Partner with National Program Directors, curriculum teams, operations, and client-facing leaders to align instructor expertise with program requirements.

  • Identify instructor staffing risks before they impact customer delivery and proactively implement mitigation strategies.

  • Develop workforce planning models that support continued organizational growth without compromising delivery quality.

  • Travel regularly to campuses and employer locations to observe instruction, support instructors, evaluate customer experience, and maintain visible leadership presence.

Instructor Development & Performance Excellence

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the systems that qualify, develop, coach, and evaluate instructors to ensure consistent instructional excellence across every enterprise training engagement.

  • Design and deliver instructor onboarding and readiness programs that prepare every instructor for successful enterprise delivery.

  • Develop standardized instructor qualification requirements, facilitation standards, classroom expectations, and instructional best practices.

  • Create train-the-trainer programs that prepare instructors to deliver technical curriculum consistently across customers, campuses, and locations.

  • Develop instructional observation tools, competency rubrics, and performance evaluation frameworks.

  • Conduct classroom observations and provide structured coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback.

  • Design and implement instructor professional development programs that continuously strengthen facilitation skills, adult learning practices, classroom management, customer engagement, and instructional effectiveness.

  • Lead instructor calibration sessions to ensure consistent interpretation of curriculum, assessment standards, and delivery expectations.

  • Build continuous improvement cycles that leverage instructor feedback, learner outcomes, customer satisfaction, classroom observations, and program metrics to strengthen instructional quality over time.

  • Ensure instructional excellence remains consistent regardless of instructor, location, customer, or delivery modality.

Enterprise Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build standardized instructor practices that create consistency across all enterprise programs rather than relying on individual instructor approaches.

  • Design instructor management processes, operational workflows, dashboards, and reporting systems that support organizational scale.

  • Partner with business development and client-facing teams to understand future staffing requirements and proactively prepare instructor capacity.

  • Support proposal development by identifying instructor qualifications, staffing models, deployment strategies, and implementation timelines.

  • Collaborate with Learning Design, National Program Directors, and Operations to ensure instructors remain current with curriculum updates, industry practices, and customer requirements.

  • Serve as the organizational leader for instructor quality, instructional consistency, and workforce readiness across all B2B programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Workforce Development, Organizational Leadership, Business, Human Resources, Construction Management, or a related discipline (master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience with direct responsibility for recruiting, managing, developing, and evaluating professional staff.

  • Demonstrated success recruiting and building instructor, trainer, or technical educator teams that support organizational growth.

  • Experience managing distributed or multi-site teams across multiple locations or customer accounts.

  • Experience supporting workforce development, technical education, corporate learning, enterprise training, or employer-sponsored education.

  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems, processes, and operational standards across multiple programs rather than managing a single static team.

  • Strong interviewing, selection, and workforce planning experience.

  • Experience managing instructor deployment, scheduling, customer assignments, and operational logistics.

  • Strong project management, organizational planning, and execution skills.

  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, mentoring, and communication abilities.

  • Ability to travel approximately 30-40% to campuses and employer sites nationwide.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directly managing instructors, trainers, technical educators, or workforce development professionals.
