Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Security Technician at our Ottawa office reporting directly to the Sr Field Service Manager. You will be responsible for responding to and resolving service calls, providing technical support and solving problems for Honeywell customers located across Eastern Ontario. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and material work and preventive maintenance. Honeywell's customers utilize various products and solutions within the security system category, including all related computer and supporting systems. The objective is to maintain optimal system uptime.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer software and hardware support to remote deployment teams for a globally Integrated Solution
  • Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently
  • Analyze system logs and perform routine audits to improve system performance and efficiency
  • Prioritize and lead a range of tasks while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple partners
  • Provide software and hardware design, development and implementation support
  • Assist customer with Life Cycle Management and software upgrade planning and deployment strategies
  • Build and maintain accurate records, reports, system configuration documentation and action lists
  • Lead and document reoccurring meetings both with customer and internal
  • Formal reporting and site documentation


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Post secondary education in a technology or engineering related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in access control, security and CCTV fields
  • Valid G driver's License
  • Ability to acquire Secret Federal Government Clearances
  • Ability to be part of an on-call rotation


WE VALUE:
  • BSP Certification - license is mandatory to work in Quebec's private security industry
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience working in a server-based environment
  • A solid grasp of IT network communications technology
  • Application Programming Experience (JAVA, Apache Tomcat, VB Script)
  • Knowledge and experience working with Domain Services, Microsoft Office and Visio
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams
  • Bilingual in French and English


The annual base salary range for this position is $74,400 to $97,500 in Kanata, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
