Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000 Base Salary
Position Summary
The Lead Commercial Roofing Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects while serving as a technical leader within the estimating department.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the estimating process for commercial roofing projects.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Perform roofing takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
• Prepare accurate estimates and professional project proposals.
• Mentor and support junior estimators.
• Develop competitive bid strategies while maintaining profitability goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, owners, consultants, and suppliers.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure successful project handoff.
• Track bid opportunities and estimating performance metrics.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternative roofing solutions.
Qualifications
Required
• 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
• Proven ability to manage large commercial roofing bids.
• Strong knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal roofing, and coatings.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Experience with estimating and takeoff software.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license.
Preferred
• Prior experience leading or mentoring estimators.
• Experience with The Edge, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or RoofSnap.
• Knowledge of local building codes and roofing industry standards.
• Established relationships within the commercial construction industry.
